Dickinson, ND-  The Badlands Big Sticks scored 4 runs in the 8th inning to give them the 7-5 victory against the Willmar Stingers.

It was looking pretty grim for the Big Sticks in the beginning of this game. The Stingers pulled out to an early lead in the 2nd with a Nico Senese RBI single. That lead expanded to 3 in the 4th on a fielders choice. The tide changed for the Sticks in the 6th inning when Kaden Carpenter blasted a 2-run homer into right field. Stingers pitcher Brooks Kneifl finished out that inning allowing only those runs, 4 hits, and striking out 6 batters.

The Sticks 4-run 8th inning started out with a RBI groundout from Luke Shannahan. Zach Selfon came up next and hit a 2 run single up the middle. Tyler Tobey closed it out with a RBI infield single. The Stingers made the ninth inning dramatic as they treid to claw back into the game. After Andrew Sojka reached base on an error, Liam Bushey knocked him in on a groundout. Dariel Osoria grounded out next and scored another run, but Roman Tolbert was close it out.

The Sticks play again tomorrow against the Stingers at 6:35.
