Adam McClain (Memphis) had a couple big at-bats late in the game Friday that ended when he muscled a grand slam over the left field wall at the Duck Pond.

Down 5-2 in the eighth inning McClain singled and eventually scored to help the Mallards tie the score at 5-5 heading to the ninth. Batting again in that ninth inning, the Madison right fielder became the hero by beating St. Cloud 9-5 with one swing of the bat.

Honorable Mention: Rochester right fielder Rance Roundy (UNLV) can’t have his 4-for-6 night go unnoticed. He doubled three times, scored three runs, and drove in five runs in the Honkers’ 14-1 dismantling of the Wisconsin Woodchucks.
