adminMankato's Tim Griffin threw a no-hitter against the St. Cloud River Bats (pictured above) while the Waterloo Bucks swept a double header from Eau Claire to move within one game of first place in the South Division.
Petricka Extremely Efficient In MoonDogs Win
adminJake Petricka (Indiana St.) threw eight strong innings to give the MoonDogs a 6-1 win over the Brainerd Lakes Area Lunkers at Stewart C. Mills Field. Petricka (2-2) had his best outing of the year, allowing just five hits and one earned run in eight innings of work. He threw just 83 pitches and struck out two on the afternoon. He recorded 16 ground ball outs.
Tommasini’s Bat, Glove Fuel Honkers Win
adminJohn Tommasini (Oregon State) was inserted in to the top of the order and he led the way for the Rochester Honkers with a 3-for-3 day and two runs scored as Rochester defeated St. Cloud 4-2. He also walked twice, reaching base in all five plate appearnces. With the tying run on base Tommasini made an excellent diving stop at second base to earn the final out of the game.

adminThe Rochester Honkers in the North and Madison Mallards in the South came up with big wins to increase their respective division leads Sunday.
Jansen K’s 11 Bucks, Mallards Win In Extras
adminDespite not receiving a win for his efforts the performance by Madison's starting pitcher Matt Jansen (Purdue) shouldn't be overlooked. Jansen was extremely sharp throughout in throwing 7.1 innings while only allowing one run to lower his ERA to 2.62. He also struck out a season-high 11 batters in the no-decision. The Mallards were victorious 4-1 over Waterloo in 10 innings.
Kvasnicka’s 10th Inning Single Lifts Lunkers
adminWith one out and men on first and second in the tenth, Mike Kvasnicka (Minnesota) shot a dagger through the Mankato MoonDogs heart and lifted the Lunkers to the 1-0 win at Mills Field. Kvasnicka was 2-4 with the RBI on the night.

adminEight exciting games were completed Saturday night in the Northwoods League. The Green Bay Bullfrogs (pictured) were victorious at home with a 5-3 victory over Wisconsin.
Johnson Shuts Down Huskies
adminThe Duluth Huskies were shutdown by Alexandria’s starting pitcher Erik Johnson (Cal-Berkeley) who threw 7 innings giving up 0 runs on 6 hits. He walked just one and struck out three to improve to 3-1 on the year.
Humphries Drives In River Bats Winning Run
adminBrian Humphries (Pepperdine) lined a single over the head of the second baseman in the ninth to secure a 9-8 come-from-behind win over the Brainerd Lakes Area Lunkers. Humphries finished the night 3-6 with two runs scored and two RBI's, including the game winner.
