Kenosha, WI – September 5, 2013. The owners of the Northwoods League's newest franchise, the Kenosha Kingfish, announced that Jake McGhee has been named the club's first General Manager. McGhee will start immediately at the office at historic Simmons Field in Kenosha.

"After a comprehensive search, we realized the best candidate to lead Kenosha's newest team was an individual that we have worked closely with for the last three years," Kenosha Kingfish owner Conor Caloia said. "Jake McGhee has excelled in all aspects of our operation ranging from sales to management to community relations. He will be a great ambassador for Northwoods League baseball in the greater Kenosha area."

McGhee has spent the last three years with the Madison Mallards of the Northwoods League advancing through the organization. After starting as a seasonal operations manager, McGhee has worked with Madison's corporate community the last two years consulting CEO's and decision-makers on group outings and employee entertainment. He recently completed his second season as a Corporate Account Manager. McGhee has also overseen the Mallards game day experience the last three years, supervising more than 70 fan experience ambassadors. He has also been involved in the Mallards field maintenance operations, financial management and stadium management. McGhee is a 2010 graduate of the University of Wisconsin-Madison where he earned his bachelor degree in Finance and Spanish. He is originally from Hartland, WI.

"I'm looking forward to making Kenosha my new home and can't wait to bring a great baseball product to this city," said McGhee. "My experience in Madison has prepared me well for this and I can't believe how fortunate I am to have this opportunity in such an outstanding community."

McGhee was hired by the Kenosha Kingfish ownership group of Steve Schmitt, Vern Stenman and Conor Caloia. The Kenosha Kingfish ownership group also operates Northwoods League franchises in Madison and Wisconsin Rapids.

"The City of Kenosha will enjoy getting to know Jake," said Kenosha Kingfish Owner Vern Stenman. "Our business is all about fun. Jake's energy and ability to work with people will drive the fun atmosphere that will define the fan experience at Simmons Field, starting in 2014."

McGhee joins Kenosha Kingfish Corporate Account Manager, Nick Heyerdahl, in the front office. The Kenosha Kingfish are currently hiring additional full-time employees.
