Kingfish Increase Capacity Prior To Opening Night On May 31

The Kenosha City Council voted 12-1 Monday night to approve the Kenosha Kingfish parking plan and thus a Simmons Field capacity of 3,218. Stadium capacity is determined by the combination of off-street parking provided in the parking plan and the actual space inside the facility. The Kingfish had been previously approved for a capacity of 2,200. Since adding the Miller Lite Fish Bowl, the Festival Foods Backyard and a party deck consisting of an 80-year old fishing boat named the Bambino, the Kingfish have increased the number of seats in the facility.

“The community support so far has been overwhelming,” Kingfish General Manager Jake McGhee said. “The approval of this parking plan gives us the right capacity to accommodate our fans and provide affordable, family entertainment to the greater Kenosha community. We can’t wait to get the show started on opening day.”

The Kingfish will host their season opener against the Mankato MoonDogs on Saturday, May 31st at 6:05 pm at Kenosha’s historic Simmons Field. The last 50 pairs of grandstand seats for opening night are available at Lynch Chevrolet, 10901 75th Street in Kenosha. The first 50 visitors to test drive a vehicle at Lynch Chevrolet will receive a free pair of grandstand tickets for the inaugural game at renovated Simmons Field.

The Kingfish office is located at 7817 Sheridan Road and is open from 9 am to 5 pm Monday through Friday and from 9 am to 1 pm on Saturday. For more information on 7-game packs, season or group tickets, please log on to kingfishbaseball.com or call 262.653.0900.
