Looking to win their third straight and once again protect home field, the Kenosha Kingfish welcome the hot Wisconsin Woodchucks to townTuesday night. The Woodchucks, the victors in five straight, will put their winning streak on the line against right-hander Zach Morgenstern at 7:05pm.

The matchup features the two premier power hitters in the Northwoods League, as Zach Ratcliff of the Kingfish and Paul DeJong of the Woodchucks are tied for a league-high five home runs. The Kingfish will look to capitalize on the Woodchucks’ tendency to walk opposing hitters.  Patience at the plate will be key in doing so against a Wisconsin squad who has walked 73 batters in 14 games, second most in the league.

Last night the Kingfish earned their second consecutive victory over the Kalamazoo Growlers by a count of 12-3. The game was largely decided in the bottom half of the sixth inning, as the Kingfish would push an astonishing 12 runs across.  The mark is the most runs scored in an inning by any Northwoods League team this season.  King Elvis’ bunch saw 14 consecutive batters reach base in the frame, and a total of eight different players score before the night would come to a close.

Fans in attendance this evening will enjoy “Festival Foods Oktoberfest Bratwurst Appreciation Night.” Specialty bratwursts available at the Main Concession Stand will include; Gyro brats, BLT brats, Chipotle brats, Pizza brats, and Reuben brats.  Tonight is also a “Two for One Tuesday” for all high schoolers at Simmons Field sponsored by UW-Parkside.  High school students with a valid student ID will get two tickets for the price of one.

Following tonight’s contest, the Kingfish will once again take on the Wisconsin Woodchucks on Wednesday at 7:05pm. “Happy Turf Happy Hour” will be taking place in which beers are two for the price of one from 6:05 until first pitch.  The matchup also takes place on Goldfish Night at historic Simmons Field.  The first 100 fans to enter the gates on Wednesday will receive a free goldfish courtesy of Good Water Aquatics. Numerous other goldfish themes will be present throughout the park over the course of the evening.
