Kenosha, Wis – Looking to claim their eighth win in their last 11, the Kingfish welcome the Green Bay Bullfrogs to historic Simmons Field. Start times for the two game set are 7:05pm tonight and 6:05pm tomorrow. Probable pitchers for this evening’s affair are Rex Morrow of the Kingfish and Zac Butler of the Bullfrogs.

Morrow, a right-handed arm from nearby Burlington, has enjoyed success during his time in Kenosha. In his last six innings on the mound, the 5’8”, 180 pounder has allowed just one earned run. Morrow’s ability to put the ball in the strike zone and get ahead in the count will be essential as he takes on a Bullfrog squad who leads the NWL in walks drawn and runs scored.

The last time the teams met, King Elvis’ crew demolished Green Bay. Riding seven shutout innings from starter Trevor Haas, the Kingfish took home an 11-0 victory. Kenosha hitting had a field day as nine different batters reached base. C Jordan Romero (2-3, 2 R, 3 RBI) and DH Kyle Brooks (2-4, R, RBI, BB) shined particularly bright on the evening.

Last night rain spoiled a thrilling pitcher’s duel between the Kingfish and the Lakeshore Chinooks. Kenosha starter Rico Garcia went seven innings complete, yielding just one run. Chinooks righty James Teague was just a bit better however, as he shut out the Kingfish over the course of his six innings. After both bullpens continued to stymy opposing hitters, the game would enter the ninth with a score of Chinooks 1, Kingfish 0. A torrential downpour would ensue, forcing the game into a delay and soon thereafter an early conclusion. The contest would end as a one run victory for Lakeshore.

Tonight, the Kingfish offense looks to get going early on. The team is ranked third in home runs largely due to two of the premier power hitters in the NWL, Ohio State products Zach Ratcliff and Pat Porter. A team effort should get things done for manager Duffy Dyer’s club as they attempt to batter a staff that has allowed the league’s fourth highest ERA and has recorded just five saves on the year.

The Kingfish, 11-11, sit just four games back of first place in the South Division. Over the next two days they will look to increase their lead on the 10-14 Bullfrogs. In attendance tonight will be the ZOOperstars, the World’s Best Sports Entertainment Act. Following the game on Saturday, there will be post-game Fireworks presented by Miller Lite. Sunday evening fans will have a chance to win a tablet courtesy of Platinum Systems in the Platinum Systems Tablet Dig. To end the home stand, on Monday, June 23rd the Kingfish will enjoy the summer weather with Great Outdoors Night.
