Kenosha, Wis. – Today is a busy day across the board for the Northwoods League as almost all teams have double headers, including the Kenosha Kingfish. The Kingfish play the Lakeshore Chinooks, with the first game at 12:05p.m. in Mequon and the second at historic Simmons Field at 7:05p.m.

Last night’s game ended in walk-off fashion for the Kingfish, as Chris Godinez drew a bases loaded walk in the bottom of the ninth. Duffy Dyer’s team is on a two game winning streak and will have to be close to flawless to get the third win. The Lakeshore Chinooks are first in the south division and have won eight of their last ten, with no signs of stopping.

The pitching duo for tonight will include Trevor Haas and Callahan Brown. Haas will be pitching the 12:05p.m. game and is fresh off his second win in which he pitched four and one third innings, giving up only four hits and no runs. His ERA on the year is 3.60. Callahan Brown will be on the mound at 7:05p.m.  Brown has yet to start a game but pitched his longest outing of five and one third innings in which he allowed three runs but struck out three. The pitchers will be evenly matched tonight as Chinooks’ starter James Teague has an ERA of 3.46 compared to Brown’s 3.37.

Going into the second half of the season, the slugging has been top notch for the Kingfish. Pat Porter continues his power hitting, leading the league with 35 RBI and hitting .317, highest for the Kingfish.

Tonight’s game is Guarantee Win Night, and the Human Cannonball will be in attendance for post-game entertainment. The Kingfish start their next home series on Wednesday, July 2nd against the St. Cloud Rox at 7:05p.m. and will be Tribute To Elvis Presley night.

The Kingfish office is located at 7817 Sheridan Road and is open from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Monday through Friday and from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. For more information on 7-game packs, season or group tickets, please log on to kingfishbaseball.com or call 262.653.0900.
