Kenosha, Wis. – After tonight’s doubleheader, the Kenosha Kingfish will have played eight games in six days, epitomizing the phrase “No rest for the weary”. Kenosha started the second half strong and aim to continue that despite last night’s results. The Kingfish fell in both games, with the second being a close call of 4-3. The Kingfish start the night at 5:05 p.m. with two seven inning game and the chance to pull above .500.  Starting pitchers Trevor Haas and Rex Morrow will be looking for the wins.

Trevor Haas has been emerging as a top-quality pitcher for Duffy Dyer’s team. In his last ten innings pitched, Haas has only given up two runs and has a 3.46 ERA on the year.  Rex Morrow will come in to start the second game with his 3.93 ERA. He has not given up any home runs on the season, which will bode well for the Kingfish as they fell victim to a grand slam in both of yesterday’s games.

On the year, the Kingfish have racked up numerous impressive figures in their inaugural season. They have the second highest runs per game, and tied for second in shutouts with four.  Individually, Pat Porter tops the NWL with 41 RBI, with a comfortable advantage of 10 on second place. Zach Ratcliff is second in the league with seven home runs and is fresh off of competing in the College Home Run Derby. Pitcher Rico Garcia has enjoyed great success, evidenced by a 1.86 ERA, good for third best in the league. The list goes on and King Elvis’ crew has eyes on adding onto it after tonight’s doubleheader.

The Kingfish face the La Crosse Loggers for a two game series starting tomorrow, July 8th. The night will be Star Wars themed and start at 7:05 p.m. Thursday, July 9th will mark the end of the home stand and will be Host Family Appreciation Night.
