Kenosha, Wis. – Last night the Kingfish could not grab the win in extra innings against the Wisconsin Rapids Rafters and fell 8-6. With a Kingfish win tonight and a loss from the Wisconsin Woodchucks, King Elvis’ crew would move into third place in the South Division. The Wisconsin Rapids are close behind, currently in fifth place and will look to tonight to make a move, however, the Kingfish and Steven Klimek will say otherwise.

Klimek ranks third on the team with 25 strikeouts and will be making his fifth start. The last time he faced the Rafters, he pitched three innings of shutout ball, striking out four and allowing no runs in the 5-2 victory.

Throwing for the Rafters will be Justin Schander. The righty from Phoenix College has made three appearances for Wisconsin Rapids, has a 0-1 record with the loss coming on July 4th against the Kingfish. He comes into tonight’s game with a .81 ERA and only 11 innings pitched.  Despite last night’s loss, the bats have come alive for the Kingfish as of late, with 12 hits last evening, and a combined 15 in the previous two.

The Kingfish will celebrate the past teams of Simmons Field tonight and wear pink Kenosha Twins jerseys as part of Lee Plumbing, Heating, Cooling & Electric Twins Turn Back the Clock Night. Both tonight and Saturday night will have post-game fireworks.

The Kingfish office is located at 7817 Sheridan Road and is open from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Monday through Friday and from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. For more information on 7-game packs, season or group tickets, please log on to kingfishbaseball.com or call 262.653.0900.
