Kenosha, Wis. – On Friday, August 22nd the Kenosha Kingfish presented a check for $3,319 to Aurora Health Care with all proceeds going to the Aurora Health Care Foundation. The check was the result of a silent auction of the Kingfish inaugural season alternate uniforms that were designed by Benjamin Hufendick, the winner of a pre-season contest.
Over 100 students in the greater Kenosha area participated in the contest to design the 2014 alternate jerseys in a competition that took place in February. Benjamin Hufendick from St. Joseph Catholic Academy was the contest winner and his design inspired the look for the 2014 Kingfish alternate jersey. The jersey is navy blue with red, white, and yellow piping. “Kenosha” is prominently displayed across the chest, with the Kingfish crown hanging off of the K. The Kingfish wore the stylish jerseys for all 36 road games and as an alternate uniform during select home games throughout the 2014 season.
The Kingfish are proud to partner with Aurora Health Care to support their efforts to enhance patient care and help people live well. Proceeds from the silent auction that took place at historic Simmons Field on Sunday, August 10 were donated to the Aurora Health Care Foundation which supports a wide range of services for cardiac care, cancer research, outreach services to the less fortunate, women’s health and more.
The Kingfish and Aurora Health Care are excited to work together as the Kenosha Kingfish will host its inaugural Spooky Sprint 5K and Fall Festival on Saturday, October 18 to benefit the Aurora Medical Center in Kenosha. The event will start at 9 am with the Spooky Sprint, a 5K Fun Run/ Walk starting at City Hall in downtown Kenosha and end at home plate of Simmons Field.
