UW-Parkside vs. St. Xavier Baseball At Simmons Field

Kenosha, Wis. – The UW-Parkside baseball team will host St. Xavier at Simmons Field for a 6:05pm game on Wednesday, April 29th. This will be the first collegiate game played at Simmons Field in 2015. The 9-18 Rangers of the Great Lake Valley Conference will take on the 9-23 Cougars of the Chicago Collegiate Athletic Conference with gates opening at 5:05 pm.

Tickets for this event will be just $5 and admission for UW-Parkside students is free with student identification. The Kingfish will be offering full concessions for the event. Tickets can be purchased over the phone at 262.653.0900, online at kingfishbaseball.com or inperson at the Simmons Field box office. Office hours are Monday through Friday from 9am – 5pm

Kingfish General Manager, Jake McGhee, looks forward to baseball being back in action at Simmons Field, “Our inaugural season in Kenosha was a ton of fun and we can't thank the community enough for their continued support. I can't wait for the 2015 season to begin on April 29, with a game from a great program and partner like UW-Parkside." 

SerioJosh Serio, pitcher for UW-Parkside, will be playing for the Kenosha Kingfish this upcoming summer, after finishing out his season with the Rangers. UW-Parkside Head Coach, Daniel Esposito, shares his excitement for Serio, "It is a great opportunity for Josh to play in a high caliber summer collegiate league like the Northwoods League,” Esposito said. “It is equally exciting to be able to keep him in the area playing for the Kingfish. I’m hoping Josh can help the Kingfish win plenty of games this summer.” With an ERA of 4.50, stand-out sophomore, Serio, leads the Rangers in wins so far this season (4). Serio has 47 strikeouts in 44 innings pitched.

 

The Kingfish will host their season opener against the St. Cloud Rox at 7:05pm at Simmons Field. Single-game tickets will go on sale on Saturday, April 25th.
