Kenosha, Wis. – The Kingfish (19-9) look to stay atop the Northwoods League South Division standings as they host the La Crosse Loggers (14-13) at 7:05 p.m. at Simmons Field tonight.
The Kingfish fell at Green Bay 8-1 last night. Zach Weigel had two hits and Hunter Alexander drove in the lone Kingfish run on the night. Dillon Mazzoccoli started and threw five innings for Kenosha, giving up four runs and seven hits.
Ryne Blanton goes for the Kingfish on the hill tonight. Blanton has won his last two starts and only surrendered one hit in his last start against Kalamazoo. The freshman from Madison College holds a 4.32 ERA in 16.2 innings pitched this year.
For tonight’s game, the Kingfish will wear Snap-On Sockets jerseys, a candidate for the team name of the Kenosha organization back in 2013. The jerseys are to be auctioned off in the form of a silent auction. The proceeds will go to The Pink Fund, a non-profit breast cancer awareness group.
