Franchise Record Seven Kingfish Selected to All-Star Game

Kenosha, Wis. – The All-Star results are in and the Kingfish will have a large group representing the Kingfish at the 2015 Northwoods League All-Star game presented by Marshfield Clinic at Witter Field in Wisconsin Rapids on Tuesday, July 21st

A Kingfish record seven players were selected to play on the South Division All-Star team in Wisconsin Rapids. Four positions players and three pitchers were selected from the Kingfish.  The position players include infielder Hunter Alexander, infielder Alex Borglin, outfielder Eric Filia, and catcher Jason Scholl. Filia and Borglin both have batting averages above .300, among the league leaders in the Northwoods League.  Scholl is tied for third in the league with eight home runs. Alexander will be unable to play due to an injury.

The pitchers selected are reliever Ryan Orr and starters P.J. Schuster and Josh Serio.  Schuster is tied for ninth in total strikeouts across the Northwoods League and Orr owns a 1.30 ERA, one of the best for relievers. Serio leads the league in ERA (0.89) and wins (6).

Joining the seven players in Wisconsin Rapids will be Manager Duffy Dyer and the rest of the Kingfish coaching staff.  By locking up the first half Northwoods League South Division Title, the Kingfish coaching staff has the honor of coaching the South Division All-Star team.

The Kingfish led the entire Northwoods League with seven All-star selections.  The Kingfish had two players selected for last year’s All-Star game at Lakeshore.
