Kingfish Add Hitters Hearn and Gilbert to Roster

Kenosha, Wis. – The Kingfish have made a couple of moves to beef up their batting order. Joining the team in Kenosha this summer will be catcher Marshall Gilbert and infielder Matt Hearn.

Marshall Gilbert is a freshman at John A. Logan College in Carterville, Illinois. A Wisconsin kid through and through, he hails from Trevor, Wisconsin originally which is just 20 miles west of Kenosha.

Gilbert has burst onto the scene. 46 games into the year, he is hitting .408 with 12 HR and 65 RBI. He has also notched 17 doubles and 5 triples. Gilbert has signed a temporary contract with the team and is looking to carry that momentum into his summer in Kenosha.

Matt Hearn is a junior infielder at Mission College who will add an extra left-handed bat to the Kingfish batting order. Last year at Mission he hit .371 with 14 RBI in 34 games played. He was also a speed demon on the base paths as he stole 23 bases in 24 attempts. Hearn will be a key component to the team this summer especially early on in the season. The Kingfish will open up play this summer at home against the La Crosse Loggers on May 31 at 7:05 CST.
