Kingfish Add Three Pitchers and Two Hitters to Roster

Kenosha, Wis. – The Kingfish have bolstered their pitching staff with the additions of three pitchers, and their lineup with a pair of bats. Colton Lee, Andrew Reisinger, and Cole Erickson will all be coming to Kenosha for the summer as pitchers, while Nick Kanavas and JD Hearn are coming in as hitters.

Colton Lee will rejoin the Kingfish after being on the squad last season under a temporary contract. He pitched this past season at Lewis and Clark Community College where he made 6 appearances, worked 19.2 innings, and struck out 16.

Cole Erickson just concluded his sophomore year at the University of Wisconsin- Stevens Point. The Deerfield, Wisconsin native had an impressive campaign. In 2016 he posted an ERA of 2.19 and struck out 32.

The last of the three pitchers is Andrew Reisinger. A redshirt freshman at McHenry County College, Reisinger had a stellar season. He had a record of 10-0 combined with a 2.03 ERA. He also struck out 91 batters.

Nick Kanavas was the team leading hitter this past season for the Madison College Wolfpack. The sophomore from Brookfield, Wisconsin hit .362 with 6 HR and 37 RBI. He was also a speed demon on the base-paths, as he swiped 13 bases on 14 attempts. Kanavas was a 6-time letter winner in high school, competing in baseball, basketball, and soccer. Kanavas will be expected to use that athleticism to help bolster the Kingfish outfield.

J.D. Hearn will be joining his brother Matt in Kenosha this summer. J.D. is a Junior at UC-San Diego and spent the year hitting .318 while picking up 21 RBI. Over the course of the season, he collected several accolades including NCBWA West Region Player of the Week and CCAA Player of the Week. Hearn will add a little bit of depth to the left side of the Kingfish infield, especially early on in the season. The Kingfish will open up play this summer at home against the La Crosse Loggers on May 31 at 7:05 CST.
