Kenosha, Wis. – The Kingfish (18-27 overall) fell in 10 innings to the Lakeshore Chinooks at home by a final score of 4-3.
Both pitching staffs had marvelous evenings, especially the starters. Andrew Reisinger took the hill, pitched 5.2 innings for the Kingfish, and surrendered 3 runs. Bobby Skogsbergh was brought in during the sixth and kept the Chinooks offense at bay. He allowed neither a hit nor a run in 3.1 innings of relief.
The Kingfish offense came back and scored 2 runs in the 8th on a Chinook error and Matt Byars sacrifice fly. In the 9th inning, with the Kingfish down 3-2, Rob Henry tied the game with an RBI single to center field, and the game went into extras.
Ryan Orr was brought on to pitch in the top of the 10th, but surrendered a run off of 2 hits, giving Lakeshore a 4-3 lead. The Kingfish were unable to respond and took the loss 4-3.
The Kingfish will host Lakeshore tomorrow night for game 2 of the series at 7:05 CT. On Saturday, the Madison Mallards come to town at 6:05 CT.
