Kenosha, Wis. – The Kingfish (22-35 overall) won their second straight game by defeating the Wisconsin Rapids Rafters 4-1 at Simmons Field.
The Rafters took the lead quickly in the first, and led 1-0 most of the game. In the seventh, the Kingfish scored four runs off of 5 hits. The inning featured a Dylan Rosa two run triple, and a Matt Kroon one run single. The four run outburst was enough to carry the Kingfish to victory.
Pitching ruled the day for the Kingfish. Grant Spranger picked up his first win in Kenosha with a seven inning, one run performance that saw him tally five strikeouts. Ty Harris notched his first Northwoods League save with two scoreless innings of relief.
Marty Bechina paced the Kingfish offense with a 3 for 4 evening. Gunnar McNeill went 2 for 4 at the plate, while Dylan Rosa finished 1 for 3 with a triple and two RBIs.
The Kingfish will go for the series sweep against the Rafters tomorrow at 4:05 CT.
