Kenosha, Wis. – The Kingfish (26-46) took a loss to the Woodchucks in the final game of the 2016 season by a score of 7-0. 

The Woodchucks scored first in the second inning and tacked on from there, hitting three home runs along the way. Scott Parker threw a complete game shutout for Wisconsin to hold the Kingfish offense at bay. 

Sam Lund took the hill for the Kingfish in the finale. He threw five innings, and allowed three runs off of nine hits. Ty Harris relieved him and was responsible for three runs in 1.2 innings of action. Riley Futterknecht allowed the final run of the game, and pitched 2.1 innings while striking out three. 

The Kingfish lineup was held to five hits today. Marty Bechina had the only extra-base hit with a double in a 1 for 4 game. Blake Reese, Dylan Rosa, Matt Byars, and JD Hearn all got into the hit column as well with singles. 

The Kingfish finished the season winning three of their last four games. The loss ended the third year of franchise history, and the Kingfish will be back at Simmons Field in 2017.
