The Kenosha Kingfish of the Northwoods League have announced their schedule for the 2019 season.

The Kingfish will open their season at Historic Simmons Field against the Wisconsin Woodchucks on Tuesday, May 28th at 6:35pm. This is the start of a two-game homestand that concludes on Wednesday, May 29th at 6:35pm. The start of the homestand will mark the Kingfish sixth season in the league.

The Kingfish play 18 home games in May/June, 12 in July, and six in August. Next season the Kingfish will be hosting 16 games on Friday, Saturday, or Sunday.

As part of the 2019 Northwoods League expansion and realignment, the League is adopting new divisional names: Great Plains and Great Lakes.  The names serve as an homage to the growth the League has experienced over its 25-year history, as well as its vast geographic presence, stretching from the Great Plains at its western-most edge, throughout the Great Lakes region to the East.

The Kingfish will reside in the Great Lakes East Division (formerly the South Division). Also in the Great Lakes East Division will be the Battle Creek Bombers, Kalamazoo Growlers, Kokomo (new team in 2019), Rockford Rivets and Traverse City (new team in 2019).

Other teams that were previously in the South Division will make up the Great Lakes West Division. Those teams are the Fond du Lac Dock Spiders, Green Bay Booyah (formerly the Green Bay Bullfrogs), Lakeshore Chinooks, Madison Mallards, Wisconsin Woodchucks and the Wisconsin Rapids Rafters.

“With the Kingfish in the new Great Lakes East Division, Kenosha will have the chance to see the new teams in Traverse City and Kokomo when they make their way to Historic Simmons Field,” said General Manager, Doug Gole. “We will build new rivalries while continuing to bring exciting baseball and a great experience to the fans of Kenosha. Go Kingfish!!”
