The Kenosha Kingfish and Parkside announced they have entered a partnership that will bring Parkside Baseball to Historic Simmons Field for the 2019 season.

“We are absolutely thrilled to have the Parkside Rangers play at Historic Simmons Field,” explained Doug Gole, General Manager of the Kingfish.  “We are focused on what helps the sport of baseball in our community.  So, in that respect, this was a no brainer.  Thanks go to Andrew Gavin, Chris Barker and their staff for making this partnership happen.”

Parkside is a member of the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) Division II and the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference. Parkside is the only NCAA Division II School in the state of Wisconsin.

“We are excited to partner with the Kenosha Kingfish and Historic Simmons Field to provide Parkside Baseball with a new home this season,” said Andrew Gavin, Director of Athletics. “Community partnerships are an important initiative for Parkside Athletics, and we are thankful to Conor Caloia and Doug Gole for their partnership that will enhance the student-athlete experience, competitive advantage, and community visibility for Parkside Baseball.”

Simmons Field is also the host of several local teams, including the boys high school varsity teams at St. Joe’s Academy and Christian Life, as well as men’s league teams the Kenosha Kings and Kenosha Javelins.

The KSBO (Kenosha Simmons Baseball Organization), who works with the different organizations that play at the field, assisted in the process of scheduling with the teams.

“This gives the opportunity for the Parkside fans, players, students and families to experience Historic Simmons Field which is a great baseball venue,” Gole said.  “And it gives our fans the opportunity to support Parkside in a way they maybe haven’t before. It’ll introduce new fans to their players and program. We are excited.”
