BATTLE CREEK, Mich. – The Kenosha Kingfish downed the Battle Creek Bombers 3-2 on Sunday night at C.O. Brown Stadium.

RHP Kaleb Schmidt (Drury) started the game for the Kingfish. He got the win pitching six innings allowing two runs on two hits with seven strikeouts.

Bombers relief pitcher Jordan Rhoades (McDaniel) picked up the loss giving up one run on one hit and one strikeout in one inning.

The Kingfish started the night off with one run in the top of the first inning. With the bases loaded SS R.J. Pearson (Oral Roberts) flew out on a sacrifice to right field to drive in LF Mike Jarvis (San Diego State).

Kenosha scored another run in the top of the second on a Jarvis sacrifice fly to right field and led the Bombers 2-0 into the middle of the second inning.

Battle Creek matched Kenosha’s one-run innings in the second and third. DH Josh Sears (Freed-Hardeman) tied the game in the third on a homerun to left field.

Kenosha re-took the lead in the seventh inning, 3-2, after Jarvis scored on a double steal.

RHP David Luethje (Florida) came out of the bullpen for the Kingfish and got the save after throwing three shutout innings on five strikeouts.

Jarvis finished the night 3-4 at the plate with an RBI, two runs score and three stolen bases.

The Kingfish continue their four game road trip Monday in Battle Creek at 7:05 PM ET.
