WISCONSIN RAPIDS, Wisc. – The Kenosha Kingfish (5-10) took a 3-2 victory on Friday night over the Wisconsin Rapids Rafters (9-5) at Witter Field.

Rafters starting pitcher RHP Jack Sinclair (Central Florida) got the loss pitching five innings and allowing three runs on eight hits.

RHP Caleb Larson (Illinois) started for Kenosha and got the win pitching five innings allowing two runs on four hits. Larson struck out four on his way to recording his first win in the Northwoods League.

Kenosha started the scoring in the opening two frames and never relinquished the lead.

In the first inning 2B Mitchell Buban (UW – Milwaukee) hit a two-run home run, his first of the season, to left field.

C Drew Dyer (Chicago State) homered for the first time this season and put Kenosha up 3-0 into the bottom of the second.

The Rafters battled back for two runs in the bottom of the fifth before Buban ended the rally on a diving stop at second base.

The game was shortened to five innings due to rain.

The Kingfish return home to Historic Simmons Field on Saturday to face the Kalamazoo Growlers at 6:35 p.m. CT.
