Battle Creek, MI – The Kenosha Kingfish fell to the Battle Creek Battle Jacks 6-1 on Monday night. 

 

Following a scoreless first frame, Battle Creek plated their first run off of a James Canar bases-loaded walk that scored Billy Hancock to make it 1-0. Battle Creek added four more in the second stanza courtesy of a Robbie Merced bases-loaded hit by pitch and a Patrick Mills bases-clearing three-RBI double to put Battle Creek up 5-0 after two.

Kenosha scored their lone run of the game in the sixth when Kevin Bushnell scored on a wild pitch to make it 5-1.

 

Battle Creek responded in the last of the seventh on a Joey Grabanski single that scored Mills to make it 6-1.  

 

Caleb Lanoux got the win on the mound after throwing two innings, conceding the lone Kingfish run.

Kenosha pitcher Randon Dauman was credited with the loss after giving up five runs in 1.1 innings pitched. Robbie Dudzinski pitched 4.2 innings of shutout ball in relief with seven strikeouts. Luke Ellis followed with one inning conceding one run. Jesse Wainscott also threw an inning of shutout ball

Kenosha (5-3) will take on the Rockford Rivets (5-3) for the first of a four-game homestand on June 8. The first pitch will be at 6:05 p.m. CST.
