Loves Park, Ill. – The Kenosha Kingfish fell to the Rockford Rivets 6-2 on Wednesday night. 

Rockford put up six runs in the second inning when Drew Baker reached to score three runs. Only two of the six runs allowed were earned.

 

Kenosha replied in the seventh off of a James McCoy single that scored Gage Williams to make it 6-1. Jacob Tobias also singled to score Taylor Darden to cut it down to 6-2 which held for the rest of the game.

 

Ricky Castro was credited with the win after going six innings and allowing zero runs.

Kenosha pitcher Clark Candiotti was charged with the loss after throwing four innings, conceding two earned runs. Drew Howard followed Candiotti, throwing two innings allowing zero runs. Both Jake Wright and Tony Manzano also threw scoreless frames.

Kenosha (0-1) will take on the Rockford Rivets (1-0) in the series finale on July 7th. The first pitch will be at 6:35 p.m. CST.
