Loves Park, Ill. – The Kenosha Kingfish defeated the Rockford Rivets 7-6 on Tuesday night.

Rockford scored three unanswered runs in the first three frames to take a commanding 3-0 lead.

 

Kenosha replied in the in the fourth off of a Brady Counsell double that scored Kevin Bushnell and a Zack Carinci single that scored Counsell to make it 3-2

 

Kenosha took the lead in the sixth off of a Rail Gilliam sacrifice fly to make it 4-3. Following an insurance run, Rockford scored two in the eighth to force the game to extras after a shutout ninth. In the eleventh, Zach Marriott singled to score Kyler Carmack to walk off the Rivets.

Carson Caso was charged with the loss after throwing 0.1 innings allowing one.

 

Kenosha pitcher Zack Carinci was credited with the win after throwing four innings and allowing three runs. He relieved Bryant Bagshaw who threw seven innings and allowed three runs.

 

Kenosha (16-16) will take on the Traverse City Pit Spitters (24-8) in the series opener on August 10th. The first pitch will be at 6:35 p.m. CST.
