Kalamazoo, Mi. – The Kenosha Kingfish fell to the Kalamazoo Growlers 9-1 on Friday night.

 

Kenosha scored their lone run in the first off of a Nick Iannantone sacrifice fly that plated Zack Carinci to make it 1-0.

 

Kenosha’s lead held until the fourth when Casen Taggert scored on a wild pitch to even the score. Kalamazoo took the lead in the fifth when 2021 Kingfish Vince Bianchina scored on an error. 

Kalamazoo added six insurance runs in the seventh starting with a Banks Tolley triple that scored Ryan Dykstra and Bianchina to make it 3-1. With an 8-1 lead in the eighth, Myles Beale hit a sacrifice fly to make it 9-1.

 

Nolan Milliman was credited with the win after throwing five innings and allowing one run.

 

Kenosha pitcher Damian Wallace was charged with the loss after throwing 6.1 innings and allowing five runs. John Creviston came on in relief and conceded three runs. Tony Manzano threw an inning and conceded a run. Alex Buchanan threw 0.2 innings of shutout ball.

Kenosha (16-19) will take on the Kalamazoo Growlers in the season finale on August 13th. The first pitch will be at 5:35 p.m. CST.
