Chad Hollingsworth and Joshua “Rico” Garcia Heading to Kenosha this Summer

The Kenosha Kingfish have announced the signing of sophomore pitcher Chad Hollingsworth from the University of Texas and sophomore pitcher Joshua “Rico” Garcia from Hawai’i Pacific University.

Hollingsworth, a 6’2”, 210-pound RHP is enjoying a tremendous campaign for the Longhorns, boasting an impressive 1.69 ERA over 37.1 innings pitched.  In his 21 appearances the Waco, Texas native has yet to allow a home run and has walked just seven hitters on the year.

Hollingsworth played four years at Robinson High School and earned Perfect Game Texas All-Region First Team honors.  He also was named 2011 and 2012 District 19-3A Most Valuable Player, as well as 2011 Super CenTex Player of the Year by the Waco Tribune.

Garcia, a 5’9”, 170-pound RHP from Kapolei, Hawaii will join the Kingfish after his second season as a Sea Warrior. Garcia started 11 games during his sophomore year and went 4-1 with a 2.68 ERA. He struck out 74 batters while only walking 25 on his way to setting the strikeouts in a game and the strikeouts in a season record. Garcia was a workhorse on the mound, pitching 84 innings on the year, including a 12 inning complete game shutout. The Sea Warriors finished 9-1 on the year when Garcia took the mound and he was named to the All-PacWest Team.
