Kenosha, Wis. – It has been quite some time since the Kingfish and Madison Mallards have met, dating back to opening weekend at Simmons Field in late May. Based off the work of the Kingfish offense last night of 19 hits and 21 runs, they are ready to come out tonight and take their first win over the Mallards this season.

Rex Morrow will throw for the Kingfish, coming in with an undefeated record of 2-0. The righty from Madison College has a 2.96 ERA and was named Northwoods League Pitcher of the Night after his July 7th victory over the Wisconsin Woodchucks.  He went all seven innings, striking out six and allowing only one run on four hits and claimed his first win of the season. His next outing was just as successful, garnering his second win on five innings pitched with one run given up. He will look for a repeat of past performances to get his third win.

Starting for the Mallards will be the right-handed Alex Pondick. Pondick has a 2-1 record and a 4.55 ERA. In almost 26 innings, he has given up 27 hits which will bode well for the Kingfish as their bats were on fire last night.

In last night’s seventh inning, the Kingfish went on a hitting spree, racking up ten hits in the one inning alone. On the night, nine of the ten batters recorded multiple hits and all ten scored a run. The contest also included four Kingfish home runs in front of a full house.

Tomorrow ends the home stand for the Kingfish and the final game before the Northwoods League All-Star Break. Start time is set for 5:05 p.m. and will have a petting zoo as well.

The Kingfish office is located at 7817 Sheridan Road and is open from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Monday through Friday and from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. For more information on 7-game packs, season or group tickets, please log on to kingfishbaseball.com or call 262.653.0900.
