Kingfish Add Hitters Fishback and McNeil

Kenosha, Wis. – The Kingfish have signed two hitters to bolster their lineup. Joining the Kingfish in 2016 will be Mason Fishback and Gunnar McNeil.

Mason Fishback will be a familiar name to Northwoods League fans as he played in 33 games last year for the Wisconsin Woodchucks. With the Woodchucks, he hit .244 with 4 HR and 18 RBI. He recently transferred to New Mexico State University and hit .326 with 4 HR and 26 RBI. Fishback was a top-notch prospect coming out of high school and considered the 85th best catcher in the country.

Gunnar McNeil will bring a nice resume to the table. A junior at the University of Kentucky, McNeil blasted 5 HR and drove home 38 RBI this past year for the Wildcats. McNeil is a first baseman hailing from Orlando, Florida and played at Florida International University and Chipola College before finally settling on Kentucky. The Kingfish will open up play this summer at home against the La Crosse Loggers on May 31 at 7:05 CST.
