The Chinooks were able to jump out to an early lead, and thanks to strong pitching, they never looked back.
Back to back extra base hits highlighted the first frame for the Chinooks. Charlie Markson (Notre Dame) knocked a triple to right field followed by a Forrest Chadwick (Southern Maine) double, allowing Markson to score.
The runs continued to come in the fourth inning. Back to back hits by NWL All Stars Bre’ Kimbell (Louisiana Tech) and Eric Aguilera (Illinois State) led off the inning. A double by first baseman Ryan Krill (Michigan State) brought two runs home. Krill would later score on a single by recently re-acquired Ty Kamps (UW-Oshkosh).
Chinooks starting pitcher Nick Soldano (North Park) had a solid performance on the mound, going six innings and allowing only four hits and one run. Green Bay’s lone score came on a Chris Hoo homerun in the fifth inning.
Ryan Harris (Florida) came in to close the game, pitching three scorless innings.
The Chinooks look to make it two in a row tonight at Joannes Stadium in Green Bay. First pitch is at 7:05pm
