The Midsummer classic is upon us in the Northwoods League.  Tuesday evening the league held its annual all-star game in Madison.  A late homerun in the eighth inning by Madison’s Tyler Marincov propelled the South to a 4-3 victory over the Northern division all-stars.  The victory ended a streak of two consecutive victories for the Northern division.

Two Chinooks players, Bre Kimbell and Eric Aguilera, were selected as the first two all-star representatives in franchise history.   Both players shined.  Aguilera went two for three and scored the first run of the game for the south division.  Kimbell (who hit behind Aguilera in the starting lineup) drew two walks to help the cause.

The Chinooks have 18 games remaining on their regular season schedule beginning Thursday in Eau Claire. Lakeshore finds themselves at 9-8 in the second half, six games behind the Wisconsin Woodchucks who lead the South division by two over Madison.

The first home game after the break will be on Sunday July 29 when the Chinooks will take on Wisconsin Rapids at 5:05.  Make sure to get out to Kapco Park early and be one of the first 750 fans through the gate to get your hands on a Gill Chinook bobblehead presented by GS Design.
