Sunday’s game brought fireworks with a combined 17 runs touching home.

Monday was a completely different story from the "Duck Pond" in Madison.

Nick Soldano (North Park) battled for 7 2/3 strong innings in a tough 2-1 loss.

The Mallards jumped on Soldano right away in the first.
Tyler Marincov hit the second pitch of the game over the fence in center for the early 1-0 lead.

The Mallards held the Chinooks hitless until the fifth when Ryan Krill (Michigan State) led off the inning with a single.

Michael Jergella (St. Cloud State) followed with a single but the next three hitters failed to reach base ending the threat.

Connor Lynch (Georgia Tech) got the Chinooks on the board in the 7th when he launched his second home run of the year–a solo shot–trimming the lead to one.

The Chinooks moved the tying run to third with two outs in the ninth but Lynch fanned to end the game.

The same two teams make their way to Kapco Park tomorrow for a 7:05 first pitch.

The first 750 fans through the gates receive a travel mug presented by Alliance Steel.
