The Lakeshore Chinooks would like to thank the 501st Legion: Wisconsin Garrison for their generous donation to Kapco’s Kids 2 Kids Christmas toy drive. The 501st made a special appearance at the Chinooks game on July 14th for Star Wars Day.

The 501st Legion is a worldwide organization for those who have an interest in Star Wars with their main missions being trying to increase interest in Star Wars but more importantly giving back to their communities through fundraisers, charity work, and volunteerism. The 501st is made up of different units from different countries and states including the Wisconsin Garrison. The organization consists entirely of volunteers and does not ask for any sort of appearance fee but rather a donation to a charity to help those who are less fortunate. The Wisconsin Garrision has made many donations to the Make-A-Wish Foundation and Starlight Starbright Children’s Foundations.

For their appearance at Kapco Park, the Wisconsin Garrison gave their donation to Kids 2 Kids Christmas. Kapco will be hosting the 7th annual toy drive this December. With the help of 620 WTMJ, the two organizations have enlisted many schools and local businesses in the area to participate in the toy drive. Last year, over 18,000 toys were donated and collected.

The Chinooks would once again like to thank the 501st Wisconsin Garrison for their donation to Kids 2 Kids Christmas and their visit to Kapco Park this past July.
