The Lakeshore Chinooks got back on track as they won 3-0 as they took on the Eau Claire Express on a chilly Tuesday night at Kapco Park.

The Chinooks had a rough four road games scoring a total of only 2 runs. Tonight the Lakeshore Chinooks showed improvements in all aspects of the game including pitching, hitting and fielding.

In the 2nd inning the Chinooks finally shook the slump as Jerrick Suiter (Texas Christian) started the hitting with a single and stolen base putting him in position to be knocked in. After two quick outs, Ryan Krill (Michigan State) came up to bat as he flared a shot to left. As many thought the Express left fielder would snag the fly ball for the third and final out of the inning, but he dropped it leading to the Chinooks first run of the game.

After a slow 3rd, Jerrick Suiter picked up right where he left off leading the 4th off with another single and stolen base. Mikole Pierce (UW-Whitewater) quickly brought in Suiter crushing a double to right-center. Next up was Ryan Krill, reeling in Pierce with an RBI single. This was just what the Chinooks needed taking a commanding 3-0 lead after 4 innings of play. As the game began to come to a close, the top of 9th brought Chinooks trouble as the Express had runners on second and third with one out. Jace Chancellor (Lubbock Christian) came into the game and brought home a victory striking out the last two batters.

Pitching for the Chinooks earned them their second win of the season. Starter, Tyler Thicke (UWM) lasted 4 1/3 innings giving up no runs in his outing.

The Chinooks face the Express again tomorrow at 6:35 p.m. at Kapco Park. Come to see the excitement as the Chinooks look to improve their 2-4 record.
