The Lakeshore Chinooks are in the home stretch of the regular season with their playoff hopes high. The team holds a 2 ½ game lead over the Eau Claire Express with five games remaining in the regular season. The Chinooks will continue on the road for those final five game as they finish up tonight in Waterloo then head to Rochester for a two game series and wrap up their regular season in Madison with a two game series.

The Northwoods League playoffs are two best of three series. Monday, August 12th – Wednesday, August 14th will be the South Divisional Round. The first half winner, the Madison Mallards, will play the as-of-yet-undecided winner of the second half. Home field advantage is based on the best overall season record.

There are a few different scenarios for the scheduling of the first round of playoff games. If the Chinooks are declared the second half winner and have home field advantage, they will play the Madison Mallards at Kapco Park on Monday, August 12th. If the Mallards have home field advantage, the series will start on the 12th in Madison with the second game of the series at Kapco Park on Tuesday, August 13th. If needed, the third game of the series will be at the location of whoever holds home field advantage on Wednesday, August 14th.

The Championship Series will begin on Thursday, August 15th, which is also a best of three series. Home field advantage is determined by the best overall record between the two teams.

Season ticket holders will have first priority for purchasing playoff tickets. Chinooks fans can request playoff tickets beginning today by calling the Chinooks ticket office at 262-618-4659. If/when the team makes the playoffs and home field advantage has been determined, fans will officially be able to purchase playoff tickets.
