For the second year in a row, the 501st Legion: Wisconsin Garrison made an appearance at Kapco Park and helped out a good cause at the same time. On July 13th, 2,295 Chinooks fans came out for Star Wars Day at Kapco Park. Fans had the opportunity to participate in Star Wars themed between-inning games and meet different characters from the Star Wars universe–even Darth Vader!
Instead of charging an appearance fee, the 501st asked the Lakeshore Chinooks to make a donation to Kapco’s Kids 2 Kids Christmas Toy Drive which is held each December! Last year, the 501st made a special appearance at Kapco Metal Stamping on the final day of the toy drive. Kapco will once again be hosting the 8th annual toy drive at their Grafton offices in December. Over the past 7 years, Kapco and 620 WTMJ have enlisted over 100 local schools and businesses to participate in the toy drive. Last year, over 20,000 toys were donated and distributed to families in need around the holiday season.
The Chinooks would like to once again thank the 501st Wisconsin Garrison for not only entertaining our great fans at Kapco Park, but more importantly, for their generosity for donating both their time and money to Kapco’s Kids 2 Kids Christmas.
