Mequon, WI – November 26, 2013 – The Lakeshore Chinooks released their 2014 schedule as they begin their third season of play in the Northwoods League. Highlighting the schedule on July 22, 2014 will be the annual Northwoods League All-Star Game to be played at Kapco Park on the Campus of Concordia University in Mequon. 2013 Major League All-Stars Jordan Zimmermann, Ben Zobrist and Allen Craig, are just a few of the big league players who have participated in the Northwoods League All-Star Game.

“We’re looking forward to showcasing the finest performers in the Northwoods League at one of our best, brightest and newest facilities,” said Dick Radatz, Jr. the President of the Northwoods League. Lakeshore Chinooks President, Jim Kacmarcik added, “We’re honored that the league chose us to host the 2014 All-Star Game in only our third year of existence. It will be a great event for our fans as the top collegiate baseball players from around the country will be on display at Kapco Park.” In addition to the game, there will be a Home Run Derby prior to the game and a banquet open to the public the night before along with other festivities.

The Chinooks will open their third campaign in the NWL on the road on May 27, 2014 against the Eau Claire Express, while the home opener will be on Thursday, May 29, 2014 at 6:35pm against the Mankato MoonDogs. The Chinooks will play 72 games in 76 days featuring 36 home dates, ending the season on the road on August 10, 2014.

Returning for his second season as Manager is Eddy Morgan. Last year Morgan guided the Chinooks to a 44-26 record and an appearance in the NWL Playoffs where they lost to eventual champion Madison Mallards. “We’re looking forward to the challenge of the Northwoods schedule. I am excited to work with these talented young men who have a passion for the game. We will be a team that plays the game right, acts professional, and takes pride in our work ethic, “commented Morgan. The Chinooks had thirteen players drafted in last year’s June Major League Baseball Draft.

The Chinooks roster features players from around the country including baseball powers like LSU, Florida, UCLA, Arkansas, Wichita State and other top colleges as well as showcasing top local college players from University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee and other universities.
