The Lakeshore Chinooks have announced their first giveaway of the 2014 season! On May 29th, the first 1,500 fans will receive a Bob Uecker bobblehead presented by Usinger’s Famous Sausage. The bobblehead captures the first pitch in Chinooks history. On June 4th, 2012, in front of 1,800 fans experiencing Chinooks baseball for the first time ever, Brewers broadcasting legend Bob Uecker threw the ceremonial first pitch to Hall of Famer Robin Yount.

Bob Uecker has been the Milwaukee Brewers radio announcer since 1971. Before he was the voice of the Brewers, Uecker played professional baseball from 1962 to 1967. He saw time with the Milwaukee Braves, St. Louis Cardinals, Philadelphia Phillies, and the Atlanta Braves. Uecker typically jokes about his infamous playing career! In 2001, he was inducted into the National Radio Hall of Fame. Two years later, the Baseball Hall of Fame awarded Uecker with the Ford C. Frick award, which is given to a broadcaster who has contributed greatly to baseball.

Mr. Baseball is also honored throughout Miller Park. In 2005, the Brewers placed Bob in their “ring of honor” celebrating his 50 years in professional baseball. A few years later he was added to the Milwaukee Braves Wall of Honor. During the 2012 season, the organization dedicated a bronze statue of Uecker himself outside of Miller Park. Just announced this past week, the team will be adding a statue of Bob Uecker in the very last row of the stadium, paying homage to Uecker’s Miller Lite commercial campaigns in the 70’s and 80’s.

Don’t miss out on the Chinooks’ first ever bobblehead of Chinooks minority owner Bob Uecker when they take on the Mankato Moondogs in interleague play on May 29th at 6:35pm.
