On Sunday, the Chinooks (28-11) kept things rolling and won their fourth game in a row. The team defeated the Green Bay Bullfrogs by the final score of 8-3.

Second baseman Jake Noll (Florida Gulf Coast) led Lakeshore and went 4-5 in the contest. He had a double, three singles and four RBI.

The Chinooks struck first in the third. Left fielder Ryan Larson (Florida) drew a walk by Bullfrogs starter Garrett Harrison. With two outs, Noll hit a double that scored Larson.

In the fourth, Lakeshore put two more runs on the board. Brett Siddall (Canisius) hit a leadoff double. He scored on another double by catcher Zack Bowers (Georgia). Mitch Ghelfi (UW-Milwaukee) also hit a double in the inning and Bowers scored.

Green Bay tied the game in the sixth. Cam Vieaux (Michigan State) gave up a double to Matt Beaty to start the inning. Left fielder Paul Jacobson drew a walk. Both Beaty and Jacobson scored on a three-run homer by Johnny Bekakis.

The southpaw Vieaux made his fifth and final start for the Chinooks. In six innings, he gave up three runs off six hits. He struck out two in a no-decision.

The Chinooks took a 5-3 lead in the seventh. Matt Sabel relieved Josh Glick and issued a leadoff walk to Ghelfi. With no outs, Cody Pollack quickly replaced Sabel.

Ryan Larson was then hit by Pollack. Ghelfi and Larson both advanced on a Blake Butler (College of Charleston) putout. Noll had an RBI single and Ghelfi scored. Valach drove in Larson with a base hit as well.

Lakeshore scored three more times in the eighth. Zack Bowers reached on a single off left-hander Jake Stolley. Luke Meeteer (UW-Milwaukee) advanced on an error by Stolley. The catcher Ghelfi had a basehit, and Ryan Larson went to first on a fielder’s choice. Meeteer scored on a single by the shortstop Butler.

Both Ghelfi and Larson scored on Jake Noll’s fourth hit of the game. The Chinooks had an 8-3 advantage over the Bullfrogs.

Wichita State right-hander Garrett Brummett (1-0) picked up the win in two scoreless innings. He gave up three hits and had two strikeouts.

Chase Radan (UCLA) pitched a shutout ninth frame. He gave up two hits and walked one.

The lefty Sabel (1-2) took the loss for Green Bay.

The Chinooks will face the Bullfrogs again on Monday, July 7. The Battle Creek Bombers and La Crosse Loggers will also travel to Lakeshore this week. Every remaining game during the home stand will begin at 6:35 p.m., with the exception of the game on Friday, July 11. It will start at 7:05 p.m.
