Mequon, WI – Chinooks outfielder Jake Romano (Miami of Ohio) was recently name Rawlings Finest in the Field. The yearly award is given to the top fielder at each position in the Northwoods League. Romano had a perfect fielding percentage throughout the 2015 season. Jake's speed helped him become an ideal center fielder for the Chinooks this past summer. He appeared in 60 games this past season and ended the year with 111 PO.

To qualify for the award, a player needed to appear in at least two-thirds of the regular season at a specific position. Romano is joined by Cameron Frost of the Madison Mallards and Cole Krzmarzick of the Rochester Honkers as the three outfielders selected for the award.

The Northwoods League is the proven leader in the development of elite college baseball players. The 22-year old summer collegiate league is the largest organized baseball league in the world with 18 teams, drawing significantly more fans, in a friendly ballpark experience, than any league of its kind. A valuable training ground for coaches, umpires and front office staff, more than 140 Northwoods League players have advanced to Major League Baseball, including Cy Young Award winner Max Scherzer (WAS) and MLB All-Stars Chris Sale (CWS), Jordan Zimmermann (WAS), Curtis Granderson (NYM), Lucas Duda (NYM) and Ben Zobrist (KC).
