Mequon, WI – The Lakeshore Chinooks are currently accepting resumes and applications for our 2016 summer internship positions. Summer internships begin immediately after the college spring semester and typically run until about mid-August. Students can receive college credit for their internship hours. All internships are unpaid.

The Chinooks have a number of internship opportunities available in ticket sales, marketing and operations, webcast, journalism, and photography.

Ticket sales interns will be responsible for bringing in new clients for group tickets and season tickets as well as selling single game tickets. They will also help provide customer service to all ticketing customers. On game nights, interns will rotate between selling walk-up single game tickets, distributing will-call tickets, ticket taking,managing Fan Assistance, and selling 50/50 raffle tickets. Also on game nights, interns will be responsible for checking in with their clients. Sales interns do have the opportunity to earn commission on all new sales.

Marketing and operations interns will rotate between a number of different duties and responsibilities. Duties and rotations will include: Marketing (setup/take down/execution of all between inning promotions and fan participation, coordination and logistics of pre-game/post-game on-field activities, coordination and logistics of promotions/theme nights/guest appearances/giveaways, merchandise store assistance, kids zone management, and mascot handler). Operations (stadium/field operations and maintenance, clubhouse assistance, parking management, kids zone management, ushering). Concessions & Hospitality (managing main concession stand and kiosk, coordination and logistics of all hospitality areas, assistance with food and beverage orders/deliveries/inventory/quality). They will also assist with distribution of marketing materials throughout community. Will be required to attend player,mascot, and organization appearances in the community. They will also have the opportunity to promote the team and promotions using unique marketing techniques.

Webcast interns will be responsible for producing a live webcast of every Chinooks home game. On game days, interns will rotate between operating and maintaining equipment such as cameras, switchers, and audio/sound equipment. Webcast interns will also have the opportunity to direct a few game broadcasts throughout the season. 

Journalism interns will be responsible for coverage for all regular season home games including taking game notes and posting updates on social media sites during games, writing game summaries and articles for team’s website, emailing game summaries and articles to appropriate media outlets following games. May be required to follow Chinooks away games via in-person, internet, or radio and post game results on team’s website and social media sites. Will be required to write Chinooks related stories for team’s program, game day insert, team’s website and social media sites.

Photography interns will be responsible for photographing all regular season home games including capturing game action shots, players, mascot, fans, and employee shots. They will also be required to capture shots of special events and activities occurring around the stadium. The team photographer may be required to attend player/mascot/organization appearances throughout the community. Interns will be responsible for uploading photos to the appropriate websites including the team’s website and social media sites after each game and appearance. They will also help the organization create an archive of photos for future reference. Photography majors are desired.

All intern staffs will be responsible for the setup and take down of Kapco Park.

The main goal of the Chinooks internship program is to give the intern staff a lot of duties and responsibilities in a number of different areas throughout the summer. In just three years, interns who have participated in the Chinooks internship program have found success following their time with Lakeshore. The Chinooks have hired five former interns to their front office staff while others currently work for the Milwaukee Brewers, Bucks, Admirals as well as other Northwoods League teams and minor league teams throughout the county.
