Mequon, WI – Chinooks 1st Baseman Matt Johnson has been selected to represent Lakeshore in next week's Northwoods League Home Run Derby.The junior from South Dakota State has five home runs on the year so far. He is currently batting .240 with 19 RBI's.

The Home Run Derby will take place next Monday night in Kenosha as the Kenosha Kingfish host this year's All-Star Festivities. Unlike typical home run derbies, this year's will take place at Kenosha's harbor on the shore of Lake Michigan. Hitters will bat from a pier extending into Lake Michigan. Sailboats from the Kenosha Yacht Club will serve as foul poles to mark the dimensions of Simmons Field and a floating barrier will mimic the outfield wall.

Nine participants from both the South and North Divisions have been chosen for the event and will feature a nine inning competition between the two divisions. Each player will represent a half inning that will consist of 6 outs. After the nine innings, the division with the most home runs will be declared the winner. An individual winner will also be crowned.

The Home Run Derby starts at 6:30pm, gates open at 5:30pm. Music from Bella Cain and fireworks will take place following the derby. The All-Star Game will take place the following day at Simmons Field in Kenosha.
