Mequon, WI – Chinooks outfielder, Joe Duncan (Eastern Illinois) has been named one of Rawling's Finest in the Field.The annual award is handed out to a Northwoods League player at each position and is based on their overall fielding percentage. To qualify for the award, a player needs to appear in at least two-thirds of the scheduled games at a specific position. All award winners receive a Rawlings engraved trophy.
Duncan ended the season with a perfect 1.000 fielding percentage.He appeared in 63 of the Chinooks 72 games finishing with 47 put outs, 3 assist while not committing a single error.
At the plate, Joe had the 5th highest batting average on the team hitting .261 over the course of the summer. Duncan, known for his speed on the bags, finished with 18 stolen bases which was good for 2nd in the team' standings behind Zac Taylor who had 20 stolen bases.
Joe's hard work and dedication to the team caught the eye of the Chinooks coaching staff and front office. The team hopes to bring back Duncan for a second campaign with Lakeshore in 2017.
