Grafton, WI – The Lakeshore Chinooks are pleased to announce the return of three key position players to the club’s roster for 2018.  Zach Biermann (Coastal Carolina), Jack Dunn (Northwestern), and Drake Lubin (Maryville) will look to build upon key contributions made in 2017 and will provide valuable leadership and experience for this year’s squad.

Biermann made his mark early with the Chinooks as he hit .370 with four home runs and a triple in twelve games before a scheduled departure to complete his transfer from Polk State Community College to 2016 NCAA Champion, Coastal Carolina.  The West Bend East 1B/DH, who will return home for the summer season after the Chanticleers anticipated postseason run, is off to a hot start in 2018. Used mostly as a DH, Biermann has posted a .298 batting average and a slugging percentage of .585 while hitting seven home runs and notching 23 RBI.

Jack Dunn led Lakeshore to a playoff appearance with his versatility and hustle. The fun-loving shortstop from Alpharetta, GA was awarded the club’s Robin Yount Award as he hit .287 with a home run and 18 RBI for the Chinooks in 2017. Dunn, recognized as a critical team leader for the Wildcats, is hitting .300 for NU, with 11 RBI and ten stolen boses, and has been solid defensively as the team’s everyday shortstop.

Drake Lubin also transferred schools in 2017 after a solid summer for Lakeshore in which he was recognized for his outstanding defensive ability as a recipient of the Northwoods League Rawlings Finest in the Field Award for outfielders.  The speedy centerfielder was solid at the plate with a .291 average and twelve stolen bases for the club. Lubin, who left Eastern Michigan for Division II Maryville University in St. Louis, leads the Saints with 30 runs scored and has posted a .350 batting average in 30 games with 14 stolen bases.

The 2018 season is presented by Port Washington State Bank with the home opener set for June 1st at 6:35pm against the Kenosha Kingfish. Season and group tickets are currently on sale with single game tickets available for purchase at the end of April.
