Rockford, IL – After rain delayed the start of the game between the Chinooks and Rockford Rivets, the game was eventually cancelled due to weather and issues with the ballpark. The rain would eventually subside, leaving the ground crew to work on the field, but another issue would cause the cancellation. The lights in left-center field wouldn’t turn on, leaving half of the outfield in darkness. After the Rivets coaches hit fly balls into the outfield to test the visibility, the umpires later determined it wasn’t safe to play the game. As tonight’s game was supposed to be the final meeting between these two teams, it is undecided yet when or if they will make the game up.

The Chinooks will return home tomorrow evening against the Kalamazoo Growlers. First pitch will be at 6:35 PM.
