Grafton, WI – Last summer, the Chinooks hosted it’s first ever cancer walk at Kapco Park when the team partnered with the Aurora Health Care Foundation for their first ever Mindful Tri Cancer Walk. The first year event had over 250 walkers and raised $25,000 for local cancer care and research.

Heading into 2019, the cancer walk is gettng a rebrand as the Chinooks will host and organize the first ever Gill’s Walk-Off for Cancer. The cancer walk will take place on Saturday June 22nd at Kapco Park.

Registration for the event begins at 8am with a pre-walk ceremony and stretching beginning at 9:00am. Gill will then lead our walkers around the campus of Concordia University Wisconsin at 9:30am.

Registration for the walk is free but donations are encouraged and welcomed.

100% of the proceeds from Gill’s Walk-Off for Cancer will be donated to the Aurora Health Care Foundation to support local cancer care and research. The Chinooks will be announcing different donation and fundraising levels in which fans and supports will receive a variety of benefits as a thank you for their contributions.

Registration for the walk will be open for walkers in the coming days.

The Chinooks and the Aurora Health Care Foundation are also looking for local companies and organizations to partner with for the event. Potential sponsors can get involved by emailing erics@lakeshorechinooks.com.

We hope that you will walk with Gill and help the Chinooks and Aurora Health Care in the fight against cancer!
