Mequon, WI – Five Chinooks players have been selected to the Northwoods League Major League Dreams Showcase which takes place on August 6th in Madison. The annual showcase acts as a second All-Star Game for the league giving the opportunity for players to perform in front of scouts. The showcase features a double header featuring the top players from the league who were selected by MLB scouts.

Representing the Chinooks will be Ronald Sweeny III, Mike Trautwein, Nathan Aide, Luke Sommerfeld, Brendan McGuigan.

Ronald Sweeny III (Minnesota) is in his second stint with the Chinooks. He has appeared in 25 games and currently has a .224 average with 3 HR’s and 19 RBI’s.

Mike Trautwein (Northwestern) has had a great season for the Nooks batting .313 with 3 HR’s and 23 RBI’s in 35 games.

Nathan Aide (Illinois) has also appeared in 25 games this season, currently at a .284 batting average with 3 HR’s and 23 RBI’s.

Luke Sommerfeld (Clemson) is in his third season with Lakeshore after being on the 2016 and 2017 roster. Pitching in 14 games, he sits with a 2-2 record and a 2.03 ERA in 17 innings of work.

Brendan McGuigan (Richmond) is also in his third season with the team which he pitched for the Nooks in 2017 and 2018. Appearing in 8 games, he has a 0.96 ERA.
