Grafton, WI – The Lakeshore Chinooks have signed four more talented position players to this summer’s roster with the additions of Colton Bauer (Ohio State), Nick Erwin (Ohio State), Josh Glenn (Northern Colorado), and Kai Murphy (Arizona State).

Colton Bauer (INF/Jr.) is a Grove City, Ohio native who committed to the University of Charleston during his senior year of high school. In his lone season at Charleston, he played in 52 games, posted an earned run average of .348 and added 35 RBI’s. He spent part of that summer with the Wisconsin Woodchucks, hitting .273 in 11 games. Before the shortened 2020 season he transferred to Ohio State where he played in 11 games and hit .294 before the season was shut down due to COVID-19. This season he has started 27 games for the Buckeyes, with 21 hits and 10 RBI’s.

Nick Erwin (3B/Jr.) is also a Grove City, Ohio native who started his collegiate career with the Buckeyes and continues to be an asset for the team. During his freshman season in 2019, Erwin played in 42 games with 38 starts and added 32 hits. After bouncing back from a hamstring injury, he hit .368 in 9 games during the shortened 2020 season. This season he has started in 34 games, hitting .243 with 15 RBI’s.

Josh Glenn (C/Jr.) played high school ball at Juan Diego High School in Draper, Utah where he was a First Team All-State and All-Region player. He started his college career at Gateway College in Phoenix, Arizona where he was awarded 1st Team All-Region, 1st Team All-Conference, set a school record in home runs, and was nominated for the Gold Glove Award. Glenn transferred to Northern Colorado and this year has started 41 games at catcher, with a .295 batting average, 39 hits, and 39 RBI’s.

Kai Murphy (OF/LHP/Fr.) was a four-year letter winner for head coach Rob Gorrell at Red Mountain High School in Mesa, Arizona where he was ranked the number 12 prospect in Arizona by Prep Baseball Report. Murphy is the son of long time Arizona State head coach and current Milwaukee Brewers bench coach, Pat Murhpy. In his first season at Arizona State, Kai saw limited action due to the shortened 2020 season, but here in 2021 he has started 36 games in the outfield for the Sun Devils, recording 28 hits, 18 RBI’s, and also pitching 11 innings.
