Grafton, WI – Lakeshore Chinooks first baseman Griffin Doersching has been selected to the 2021 Northwoods League All-Star Game, the league’s office announced Friday.

The 6-foot-4, 250-pound native of Greendale, Wisconsin garnered the selection after leading the Northwoods League in home runs with eight through the first half of the season. Doersching has registered a .261 batting average and a .530 slugging percentage with 30 hits, including five doubles and one triple, and 21 RBI. Doersching returned to the Chinooks after spending the 2019 Northwoods League season also playing under third-year field manager Travis Akre.

A former student-athlete at Northern Kentucky, Doersching made program history having hit 20 home runs to set the program’s single-season home run record this past season. The power hitter has declared his transfer to Oklahoma State of the Big 12 Conference and remains eligible for the 2021 MLB Draft.

The 2021 Northwoods League All-Star Game will take place on Tuesday, July 20 at ISG Field, the home of the Mankato Moondogs in Mankato, Minnesota. First pitch is scheduled for 7:05 p.m.
